How Our Network Works for Homeowners
Request an estimate
Who will I actually talk to?
A fair question. You will talk to an independent HVAC provider from our network. Defensecoach Heating & Air makes the introduction, and then the conversation is between you and the provider. There are no staff profiles here because the people doing the work run their own businesses.
What happens on that first conversation?
Expect a few simple questions. The provider will want to know:
- What the system is doing, such as warm air, no heat or odd noises
- How old the equipment is, if you know
- What type of home you have, like a slab ranch or an older bungalow
- When someone is home to let them in
This is the time to say what your week looks like. Busy households can ask for a visit window that avoids school runs or work calls.
What should I ask a provider?
Start with a question, then keep going. Good ones include:
- Are you available soon, and what is the visit window?
- Do you charge for the diagnosis, and will that apply toward the repair?
- Will I get a written quote before work begins?
- Are you licensed and insured for this type of job?
- Does the work come with a warranty, and what does it cover?
- If the unit is old, can you explain repair versus replacement?
If you are looking at furnace replacement near me options, ask for the equipment details in writing so you can compare.
Am I in control?
Yes. You choose whether to move forward. You can ask for another opinion. You can say no. Requesting an estimate carries no obligation, and the price and terms are agreed between you and the provider.
What if it is urgent?
If your AC quits in a heat wave or your furnace stops on a cold night, say so up front. Many providers can respond quickly, but availability depends on the provider and the day. For emergency AC repair, mention anyone in the home who is vulnerable to heat, such as young children or older adults.
